Some Interesting Facts about Cake Boss’s Buddy Valastro

Buddy Valastro became famous for making delicious and mouthwatering desserts. He is also
famous for crafting a life-sized Nasar race car from 24 individual cakes. The truth is finally disclosed that Buddy was never supposed to be the Cake Boss. His father was a third-generation baker in Italy and forbid his son to this.
Buddy’s real full name is Bartolo Valastro. He traveled to America from Sicily with no
money. He diverted himself from baking bread which was the business of his father and grandfather.
Buddy bought a bakery in Hoboken, New Jersey when he was only 25-years-old. It was
called Carlo’s Bakery named after the previous owner Carlo Guastaffero.

Buddy married Lisa Valastro after a year. Together the couple made pastries. They have 4
children together, 1 daughter followed by 3 sons.
In 2007 he debuted on the Food Network Challenge. He then created his series called ‘Cake
Their daughter revealed that she didn’t know what her father did for a living unit she was 6
years old and she saw him wearing his uniform.
She decided that she will help him in the kitchen, her father gave his apron to his daughter
but made it clear that she will not pursue this in the future. Buddy made sure to tell her that
“You are going to college”.

Buddy was first getting an education by doing hard work. His father still insisted on getting a
bachelor’s degree not a future in this field. Bartolo was just 17 when his father got lung cancer. So, he wanted to take over the business instantly. He convinced his dad that he will
make him proud.
He left high school and 3 weeks later his father died. Now after so many years Buddy has
fulfilled his promise and made Carlo’s Bakery their household name. Valastro is now
competing against many well-known bakers.
Valastro’s favorite cake of all time took a team of 10 people and 3 days to make. He
revealed that it was 12 feet tall, 12 feet long, 10 feet wide and weighed 7,000 pounds. He
further revealed that when he finished working on the cake it was 4 a.m. and when he saw the
cake he started to cry. And said, “I wish my father could see what I made”.

Buddy disclosed that since he grew up in an old-fashioned household, he doesn’t like to do
any household chores. But, he can do almost all the cooking. He is a clean-freak and
mentions that he can even see a crumb in the corner.
Lisa Valastro revealed that Buddy sticks with the classics. He always brings flowers home
and tries to do nice things. Furthermore, she stated that he made the first cake for his
deceased mother Mary when he was only 12-years-old.
