Nargis was born on june 1,1929 in kolkata jaddan Bai.She made her debut as a child artist in Talash-e-Haq at the Age of only 5.The screen name Baby Nargis was given to her.Then at the age of 14,in 1942 she appeared in a film Tamanna as an adult.
She continue to work in Hindi Films and earn Popularity in a very young age.She worked in many films Aag(1948),Barsaat(1949),Awaara(1951),Aah(1953),Shree420(1955),Chori Chori(1956).Her one film Aag was Flopped but the other four film did good Business.She was awarded by Filmfare best actress award in (1958).She was a tremendous and phenomenon actor.
She was married to Abdul Rashid and have two daughters and one son.
She was died due to Pancreatic cancer on May 3,1981 in Breach Candy Hospital Trust Mumbai.
